Work on the Sunshine Kumasi City project which promises to brighten up Kumasi is due to start on the 8th of January next year. Work on the project according to reliable sources has delayed due to acquisition of an environmental Impact assessment certificate from the EPA
The certificate Kapital News has learnt that it has been secured. Manhyia sources have also confirmed that the Asantehene Otumfour Osei-Tutu will be handing over land title certificates of the site to officials of Kenbert Group and their international partners on Wednesday December 28th.
This will pave way for the project to commence next year with a completion date set for six months. Upon completion, the Race Course area in Kumasi will be host to 240 semi-detached houses within eight separate mini communities each with its own swimming pool and tennis court, a 5-star-hotel and Clinic complex with an ambulance station and a helipad, a shopping mall, fitness centre and an amusement park.
The race course land, site for the project is currently fenced and manned by a 24-hour security post preventing any unauthorized activity contrary to reports in the media that the place has been taken over by criminals. Our sources have also debunked speculations that the sunshine city project was the baby of the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi and his demise will cripple its development.
In October this year, human settlements on the land were cleared for the project which is an initiative of the Asantehene Otumfour Osei-Tutu II.
